Dave Vaughan

After a successful career as a locomotive engineer, Dave Vaughan studied writing at George Brown College in Toronto before escaping to the quieter shores of Cobourg. Now retired, he splits his time between spoiling his grandchildren, dodging yard work, and conjuring up strange new characters who refuse to leave him alone.

Dave wrote the screenplay of the award-winning film, Hokum, directed by Jared Bratt. Advocate, was another film written by him. His debut novel, Ballet of Deception, was published in 2023 and his short story, “Unscheduled Departure” appeared in the Hill Spirits VI anthology in 2024. Killing Them Again, is the inaugural winner of the first AI-judged writing competition presented by MyPoolitzer, Quantifiction, and Blue Denim Press.

He is currently at work on his third novel, another twisted tale sure to draw readers into the shadowy corners of his imagination.
